    American Junior Baseball Program Overview

Thank you for visiting the American Junior Baseball (AJB) website. AJB has provided organized affordable baseball to the communities of Bloomington-Normal, IL, for over 50 years. AJB provides both recreational (Program) and competitive (Travel) teams for players ages 5 through 18 and typically accommodates 1,200 - 1,400 players each season. Registration fees for AJB players, excluding travel teams, range from $60.00 up to $125.00 based on the league. Registration fees provide uniforms, equipment, program operations and secondary insurance for all players in the organization.

The Program (recreational) provides baseball for the largest number of players and includes six leagues starting with T-Ball/Ages 5-6, Rookie League, L1/Ages 7-8, American League, L2/Ages 9-10, National League, L3/Ages 11-12, Minor League, L4/Ages 13-14, and Major League, L5/Ages 15-18. The season will typically begin in late May and conclude the last week in July. Teams will average 2-3 games per week including a season end tournament for leagues 3 & 4. Weekday games begin at 5:30 or 7:45 pm, and Saturday games vary from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. AJB does not schedule Sunday games. The Program philosophy promotes teaching the fundamentals of baseball, equitable playing time, sportsmanship and an enjoyable atmosphere for players, coaches and parents.

AJB is the parent organization to two travel programs those being the Renegades and the Bloomington/Normal Baseball Association. The Renegades provide baseball for players age 9-14 and typically field 6-8 teams per year. The BNBA provides baseball for High School players and will field between 4-7 teams per year. These programs play competitive travel schedules and will play between 40-50 games per season including tournaments. Renegade and BNBA players are selected through a try out process in advance of the regular season. Players are subject to the rules and regulations established by the individual Renegade or BNBA coach.

AJB is a not-for-profit organization that relies on the generosity and cooperation of our local governments and school districts. With their cooperation the AJB has access to over 30 baseball fields throughout the community. Our program fields close to 100 teams each year and is fortunate to secure team sponsorships from local business owners. Please visit our link to view our sponsor list. Thank you again for visiting the website and please contact our office for more information at (309) 829-2129, or by e-mail at ajb.baseball@verizon.net.
