Bloomington Normal Baseball Association - Program Overview
Thank you for visiting the Bloomington Normal Baseball Association (BNBA) website. BNBA has provided organized affordable baseball to Bloomington-Normal for over 50 years. This program was formally known as American Junior Baseball and prior to that American Legion Baseball. BNBA provides both recreational (In-Town) and competitive (Travel) teams for players ages 5 through 18 and typically accommodates 1,000 players each season. Registration fees for BNBA players, excluding travel teams, range from $70.00 up to $150.00 based on the league. Registration fees provide uniforms, equipment, program operations and secondary insurance for registered players in the organization.
The In-Town program provides baseball for the largest number of players and includes six leagues starting with T-Ball/Ages 5-6, Rookie League/Ages 7-8, American League/Ages 9-10, National League/Ages 11-12, Major League/Ages 13-14, and High School Division/Ages 15-18. The season will typically begin in late May and concludes in mid to late July. Teams will average 2-3 games per week including a season end tournament for leagues 3 & 4. Weekday games begin at 5:30 or 7:45 pm, and Saturday games vary from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. The BNBA philosophy promotes the fundamentals of baseball, equitable playing time, sportsmanship and an enjoyable atmosphere for players, coaches and parents.
The travel team division of BNBA for youth ages 9-14 is called the Bloomington/Normal Renegades. The Renegade teams provide a more competitive baseball experience and typically field 7-9 teams per year. The Renegades will play between 35-55 games per season including tournaments. Renegade players are selected through an open try out process in advance of the regular season.
BNBA also includes a travel division for high school players known as the BNBA Gold and Blue teams. For additional information regarding the high school travel program, click on the BNBA tab at the top left side of the screen.
BNBA is a not-for-profit organization that relies on the generosity and cooperation of our local governments and school districts. With their cooperation the BNBA has access to 30 baseball fields throughout the community. Our program fields about 80 teams each year and is fortunate to secure team sponsorships from local business owners. Please visit our sponsor page by using the tab on the left column.
